Marc Peterson, General Manager of the Ottawa Athletic Club commented, “The Ottawa Athletic Club is very excited to welcome Douvris Martial Arts Centre, to its newest location here at the OAC! Douvris Martial Arts and the OAC are a perfect pairing – leaders in their respective fields coming together to provide Ottawa with the most complete diversity of family fitness available!”
The classes will be conducted by two of Ottawa’s finest martial arts Instructors:
Sensei Robbie Lavoie started training when he was just four years old and received his Black Belt at the age of nine. Sensei Robbie has been a senior instructor at Douvris Martial Arts and Fitness Centers for the past nine years. He is also a member of the most prestigious sport karate team in the world, the American All Stars. Currently he is the World Kickboxing Council (WKC), World All Style Kickboxing Organization (W.A.K.O.), and North America Sport Karate Association (NASKA) lightweight champion. He is also a member of the WKC Canadian National Karate Team.
Sensei Nick Douvris started training in karate when he was four years old. At the age of ten he attained his junior Black Belt and has been training ever since. Throughout a busy schedule playing Junior level hockey in Ottawa and later in the Montreal area, karate training figured prominently in his life. He credits his karate background for his successful hockey career. Sensei Nick is currently attending Carleton University and teaching at Douvris Martial Arts. He is also a member of the World Kickboxing Council (WKC) Canadian National Karate Team.
John Douvris Founder of Douvris Martial Arts also commented, “The Ottawa Athletic Club was an obvious choice for us given how much we have in common particularly our strong philosophy on family fitness. We are delighted to partner with them in this venture”.
Whether you or your child’s ambition is to be a future world champion, get in shape, gain confidence or simply join a family friendly club, the new Douvris Martial Arts club at The OAC is an ideal location.
